Words of a simple foolish person!

Well being a big history buff I tend to look world events in a historical view.  I do a ton of research on Wars and other military conflicts that plague the country.  At this time of the year it is a time to reflect on those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom that some would have us to believe is free and we don’t have to do anything for.  To say that Freedom is free is a gross understatement.  Look at the Revolutionary war… The Civil War… The World Wars all have brought some people in the country albeit they have displaced millions but overall in the world they have brought a better way of life to the majority.  And to say that those that have power to help shouldn’t because that would mean one of theirs would be lost….. I don’t understand why people think that we can fight a war for freedom and not expect any casualties.  In history Freedom is only obtained by the shedding of blood and today is no different except that we can expect to not lose so many due to improved tactics but there will be some who will consecrate the cause by shedding their own blood.

I have set myself a new goal that I think I can achieve with time.  The Goal is being to read all the books that I currently have both on my Kindle and in paper.  This will take some serious time since I like to buy books faster than I can read them.  I have multiple volumes of journals and other books that I need to work my way through so we will see how long it will take me to do this.

There has been too much time since the last time I was here to post.  I needed to do this for quite a while and while I am in this class I have enough time to write and update this post for those few who do venture to even view this site.  Today at work was painful with the problems with Bell South and with Postini.  This year has brought many surprises and updates not only for me but for our family.  Well we are expecting and we will hopefully find out what we are having tomorrow.   Much of my mind has been wondering on what did I do to deserve such a great opportunity?

Well if anybody hasn’t figured out that it is summer time (if you haven’t look outside and see the lack of snow).  With Summer comes the memories of spending countless hours in the sun watching people drown from doing some less than smart stuff.  Much of what I remember is that I was able to do stuff that I wouldn’t have been able to do any other ways unless someone was helping me jump or run.  I know I scared myself many-times when I jumped over 6 feet out in the water or jumped off of a guard chair and not even hurt myself from 5 feet in the air.  I do think that there was something helping me not only see but act in a certain way.

With the problem with the economy I do see similarities with the Great Depression but I sure hope and pray that Congress (what great people they are) do not isolate our economy with the world, but that someone like Obama does something like what Roosevelt did and put the people to work so they can make money to spend money and trust the American Dollar so that we can rebound from this.  But what can a History Student really understand about what it will take?

Hmmm…..

It has been long since the last time I put anything up on this blog.  With work and school starting back up my time is not spent in some of the little things in life.  With sitting here wondering why I have to sit through another long and painful class.  I am trying to figure out who came up with the requirements for General Education so that I can kick them in the shin for the pain and suffering that I have to experience.  My only good news is that I only have 1 more Gen Ed class to do.  

With work it is the same ole drudgery and to prevent any more problems down the road you will need to talk to me for the information that I would put here….. (no I am not going to say)

I am not sure who actually reads this or what you actually do with your lives.  I personally watch House MD and I am particularly similar to him in some ways (not vicodin).  One of the biggest things that I do other than not care about the personal lives of the people I help is CHANGE.  Change is good but evil at the same time.  I would be one of those that would keep a job for a long time as long as I felt comfortable.  This being said a lot has changed at work that I have no say in.  We have moved to a new location which we can all see each other (not pretty) and we can all hear each other (my head hurts).  Oh well guess we all have to deal with what is happening and have to accept the change of the world.
