Summer!!!

Posted by Bubba

Well if anybody hasn’t figured out that it is summer time (if you haven’t look outside and see the lack of snow).  With Summer comes the memories of spending countless hours in the sun watching people drown from doing some less than smart stuff.  Much of what I remember is that I was able to do stuff that I wouldn’t have been able to do any other ways unless someone was helping me jump or run.  I know I scared myself many-times when I jumped over 6 feet out in the water or jumped off of a guard chair and not even hurt myself from 5 feet in the air.  I do think that there was something helping me not only see but act in a certain way.

With the problem with the economy I do see similarities with the Great Depression but I sure hope and pray that Congress (what great people they are) do not isolate our economy with the world, but that someone like Obama does something like what Roosevelt did and put the people to work so they can make money to spend money and trust the American Dollar so that we can rebound from this.  But what can a History Student really understand about what it will take?

Stimulus???

Posted by Bubba
— Shortly after class, an economics student approaches his economics professor and says,
“I don’t understand this stimulus bill. Can you explain it to me?”
The professor replied, “I don’t have any time to explain it at my office, but if you come over to my house on Saturday and help me with my weekend project, I’ll be glad to explain it to you.” The student agreed.
At the agreed-upon time, the student showed up at the professo r’s house. The professor stated that the weekend project involved his backyard pool.
They both went out back to the pool, and the professor handed the student a bucket. Demonstrating with his own bucket, the professor said, “First, go over to the deep end, and fill your bucket with as much water as you can.” The student did as he was instructed.
The professor then continued, “Follow me over to the shallow end, and then dump all the water from your bucket into it.” The student was naturally confused, but did as he was told.
The professor then explained they were going to do this many more times, and began walking back to the deep end of the pool.
The confused student asked, “Excuse me, but why are we doing this?”
The professor matter-of-factly stated that he was trying to make the shallow end much deeper.
The student didn’t think the economics professor was serious, but figured that he would find out the real story soon enough.
However, after the 6th trip between the shallow end and the deep end, the student began to become worried that his economics professor had gone mad. The student finally replied, “All we’re doing is wasting valuable time and effort on unproductive pursuits. Even worse, when this process is all over, everything will be at the same level it was before, so all you’ll really have accomplished is the destruction of what could have been truly productive action!”
The professor put down his bucket and replied with a smile, “Congratulations. You now understand the stimulus bill.”

Another Week Another Day

Posted by Bubba

It has been long since the last time I put anything up on this blog.  With work and school starting back up my time is not spent in some of the little things in life.  With sitting here wondering why I have to sit through another long and painful class.  I am trying to figure out who came up with the requirements for General Education so that I can kick them in the shin for the pain and suffering that I have to experience.  My only good news is that I only have 1 more Gen Ed class to do.

With work it is the same ole drudgery and to prevent any more problems down the road you will need to talk to me for the information that I would put here….. (no I am not going to say)

(more continued……..)

Change!

Posted by Bubba

I am not sure who actually reads this or what you actually do with your lives.  I personally watch House MD and I am particularly similar to him in some ways (not vicodin).  One of the biggest things that I do other than not care about the personal lives of the people I help is CHANGE.  Change is good but evil at the same time.  I would be one of those that would keep a job for a long time as long as I felt comfortable.  This being said a lot has changed at work that I have no say in.  We have moved to a new location which we can all see each other (not pretty) and we can all hear each other (my head hurts).  Oh well guess we all have to deal with what is happening and have to accept the change of the world.

Not as Bad as we think!!!

Posted by Bubba

With the election going to Obama many people I have heard say it is the end of the world and how can the world be good if we have him in office.  To that I will have to say Bah Humbug!!!!  You have to understand he will do things that we don’t agree with everybody does that.  We have to take it as a chance to get our voice heard with the Senate and House of Represenatives.  They can stop the president from acting irresponsible but more important they will keep him in check.

We have to accept change and the majority of the country wanted change so they voted for him.  We will need to accept that and get on our party to act and prepare for 2012 so that they can actually have a good canadite (and no I am not talking about Mitt) so that we can face Obama and his party.  We didn’t change as much as they did so we couldn’t take the change that they did.

Also remember as we have worthy members in this country God will keep them in line one way or another.

We Can make a difference!!!

Posted by Bubba

With the turmoil and problems that the economy is facing we are mainly to blame for the lack of judgement and the lack of involvement in our own government.  Where else in the WORLD can we have a say and actually make a difference.  In England or Russia you will be thrown in jail for standing up to politicians.  In Venezuela you might just “disappear” for doing that.  But as Americans we not only have the right to do this we have a Duty and responsibility to do this.

With corruption in the world we have to stand up and say NO to the problems and actually make a stand.  The politicians only are elected when we say they are.  Without a vote they can’t make it in.  Now the President we don’t have enough vote but with Congress and the Senate we have 100% right and duty to change what they are doing.  They are always in fear of not being re-elected.  This is the year that we should make a stand as the “strongest” (if I dare say that anymore) or freeest country in the world.  Let not those who have died tremble in the grave at the lack of responsibility that we show.  Time is coming for ALL of us to make a stand whether of not you can vote since a little encouragement will go a long way.  As well as the threat of higher taxes when unemployment is going up as fast as Wall-Street is falling is something I dare not wish to see.
